Spiritual Reflection: Nothing Separates Us

Take It to Heart

Paul is convinced that nothing will ever separate us from God.

(click the link if you don't have a Bible handy)

How convinced are you?

As you read this passage, allow Paul's passionate belief to echo in your heart, and be drawn into his poetic understanding of God's love. Neither death, nor life, nor height, nor depth can keep us away from God or, more important, keep God away from us. Paul pointed to proof of God's love: God's willingness to sacrifice his Son for our sins. God showed his unconditional love for us in this one act. And Paul is certain that there is no reason to expect anything different from God in the future. We live in that future, united with God.

What does this love mean in your family life?

How can you model this love with family members?

The things that we can be sure of is that God will always be there for us, if we acknowledge that he is first in our lives.

Saint Paul goes on to say that ALLthese things are more than conquerors, there are no powers that can separate us from Our Lord.

Hand in hand with wed.'s reflection about Profit and its direct relation to Faith and Abiding in Love, there is further Reflection to be found in 1Cor. 12 :7--Spiritual Gifts. God has provided even more gifts for Profit. Profit is not only found in practiced Virtue, of which Love is utmost and includes all other Virtues, but also a variety of Spiritual Gifts, like the utterance of Wisdom , Understanding, Faith, Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, Discerning Spirits, etc., all given by the same Spirit.

There is great profit in the abiding life and use of these gifts, which were intended , by God, to be shared and benefited by all. Without every person using their gift, appropriated by God, for the benefit of the Kingdom, the world suffers a loss.

God provides daily help to our struggling world through each persons gifts and these are a necessary part of His intended healing , and desperately needed in the world.

When we fail to Love, the world's suffering gains momentum being deprived of its healing prescription we were given to apply.

When we use our members for weapons of iniquity, we only add to the infection, the hurt, the pain. Yes, there is a lot of evil in the world (what difference have we made), what do I do about the parts of evil in myself?

Love plays a mighty part in healing, and Sin, (failure to Love), hinders God's help to mankind. God seldom works alone, especially in answering prayer.

He has given us an active share in His Kingdom's work even now. We are His people, His Ambassadors to Love.

Let us PROFIT the kingdom, let us apply the cure, let us live more consistently in Love, for the healing of God's suffering humanity.

"Love heals all ills.""

Did the Word that we heard PROFIT us, because we had Faith in what we heard,"(and lived abounding Love)?

Awesome thoughts to ponder, Charlie, helping me to meditate. Thanks

Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Very strong passage in Romans 8:35-39, one must read it, and ponder,to really come to know the dept of conviction it brings to mind.
A couple of other verses to might help to make it even more personal and cause us even greater conviction to respond. James 1:13, and James 4:1. Yes, there is nothing apart from "ourselves", that will separate us from God. You ask, "did you mean to say that?" Yes, there is nothing but "ourselves' that can separate us from God. Yes, we do have the will, or power, if one so prefers the expression. In Joh 1: 13 says: " Let no man say when he is tempted that he is tempted by God, for God is no tempter to evil, He Himself tempts no one. But we are drawn away and entices by our own PASSIONS(Desires).Even though the devil tempts us, even frequently, we still have the final say, or will to refuse or participate. We also have the power to resist and to tell Satin to leave, and He will flee from you. James 4:7. Perhaps contrary to popular opinion: 1 Cor.10:13 "God is faithful and will not permit us to be tempted beyond our strength, but with the temptation will also give you a way out that you may be able to bear it." "He is also our (protection)Our Shield of Faith"Eph.6:12 .
God is always there to help us and protect us and dwell within us.I think 1st Peter says it well in 3:13," And who is there to harm you, if you are zealous for what is good? Yet, let us not think too lightly of our passions and desires for they are at the root of all selfishness and often a hindrance to love and willing giving. Self is controlled by the intentions of the heart and the thoughts of our mind. We must stay in the Word daily, for the Word of God is a discerner of the intentions of the heart and thoughts of our minds.Heb 4:12. So with closest custody, let us guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. Let us strive to live in virtues, but especially Love. A Loving heart shall never separate or have reason to be in fear. John 4:18 " There is no fear in love, perfect Love cast out fear, and he who fears is not perfected in LOVE. Let us Love and abide in it's works.
